We are thrilled to announce the launch of Your Sexual Health Toolkit and the Our Stories, Our Journeys online game, brought to you by Project SHINE partners, including Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, The Self-Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS), AHRC New York City, and YAI.
Empowering Youth with Disabilities
Your Sexual Health Toolkit is now live at www.yoursexualhealthtoolkit.org. This comprehensive resource covers foundational sexuality topics, empowering young people with disabilities to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. Every page is designed to center and support youth with disabilities.
The toolkit also features the Our Stories, Our Journeys online game, available at both www.yoursexualhealthtoolkit.org and www.ourstoriesgame.org. This engaging, interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style game, available in both English and Spanish, offers a fun way for youth to explore important information about sexuality and sexual health, drawing on real stories and ideas from youth and others with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Project SHINE’s Vision
At AHRC NYC, we believe that people with disabilities deserve access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and care. Project SHINE envisions a world where youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities have equitable access to high-quality information and affordable health care, supported by laws and policies that promote autonomy and informed sexual well-being throughout their lives.

Sexuality and sexual health are essential aspects of growth and development. Young people deserve access to the information they need and want about these topics. We hope these new tools will help young people gain the knowledge they seek about sexuality and sexual health.
